My favourite season

There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Every season is beautiful in its own way.
When spring comes nature awakens from its long winter sleep. The days become longer and the nights become shorter. The ground is covered with emeraldgreen grass and spring flowers. The air is fresh, the sky is blue and cloudless, and the sun shines brightly. The trees are in full blossom.
Spring is followed by summer. The weather is usually fine in summer, but it can be very hot, especially in July. Sometimes there are storms with thunder and lightning.
Autumn begins in September. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The leaves turn yellow, red and brown and fall to the ground. Most birds fly away to warm countries.  It's a beautiful time when the sky is cloudless, the trees around are golden, the air is transparent and it's still warm. But gradually it gets colder and colder. It often rains in October and November which makes autumn an unpleasant season.
But my favourite season is winter.
In winter the sun sets early and rises late. The rivers and lakes are frozen over. Everything is covered with snow. Sometimes it's very cold, about 25-30 degrees below zero. Winter is a good time for sports. People go in for skating and skiing.
I like winter, weil I like very snow and when snowflakes fall slowly on the ground. As for me there's nothing like a frosty morning and when trees send out snow. There are a lot of snow and may be very cold in winter, I like skiing and make a snowman and play at snowball mit my niece.

Relationship between brothers and sisters

Recently I read an article about relationship between brothers and sisters. I think, that it is very topical problem. Many of us have brothers and sisters and many of us can ask themself better be elder brothe/sister or younger brother/sister. And I want to give my view on this problem. Many families have situation, when brothers and sisters are in discordance with each other. The main cause of it is the jealousy, which children demonstrate to their parents. Often the birth of the second child in the family is the stress for the first child. The first child thinks, that he/she is not enough good and obedient and parents decided to have another child. And the elder child begins to feel jealousy their parents to younger brothers/sisters. Often the their elder children play a dirty trick on their younger brothers/sisters and they insult their. The elder sisters and brothers force their younger brothers/sisters to do housework, often children have quarrels and even fights.

The psychologists say that unisexual children are more conflict.

Aber I can say that it is not true. I have the elder sister and we have difference in age 6 years. We always get on. We always are very friendly. In childhood we didn't quarrel. My sister always protected me and helped me in all. I didn't feel that my parents love me more or my sister love more. I know, that my parents love us equally. In childhood my sister and I always was friendly and now our friendship is more stronge. I always know, thatmy sister helps me and gives me advice. For me my sister is not only my sister, she is my best friend and she is dear to me.

Destiny of a Man

I like to read and especially I like to read the books about Second World War. I want to tell about my favourite book. My favourite book about Second World War is Destiny of a Man. This book was written by Mikhail Sholokhov. This book is about courage, bravery and humanity and love. The plot of this book consists in the following: as the war begins the main character Andrei Sokholov is enlisted as a Red Army truck driver, leaving his family behind. In the first months of war he receives a wound and he is taken prisoner, then he runs away from captivity. He learns that his wife and two daughters were killed. Now he has only son, who is the officer. But he receives a message, that his son was killed in the last day of war. He leaves alone in this world, but after the war Sokholov meets a child. Andrei asks the boy who his father is. The boy replies that he doen't know. Andrei tells the boy that he is his father and they together begin new life. This book shows, that people can remain people in any conditions. They can suffer a lot of sorrow and loss in their life but they can live and can give hope of other people. I think, that thetopic of war will be forever into the hearts of people. I think that people must not forget feat, which people accomplished during the Second World war.

The Legends of the Leaning Tower of Nevyansk

The Leaning Tower is the place of interest in Nevyansk. This tower was built in the 18th century. Its construction was funded by Peter the Great's associate and a famous Russian manufacturer Akinfiy Demidov. The height of the tower is 57,7 m. from the ground. According to recent measurements the deviation of the top part of the tower from a right angle is currently 2,20 m. There is still no evidence to this day as to when exactly the Tower was constructed. Russian historians believe that it was built between 1725 and 1732. Also there is no information about the architect of this unique edifice.

The Leading Tower has a lot of legends. Historians are still debating about the exact purpose of the Nevyansk Tower. Some say that Demidov used it as a "bank safe", others believe it was either a watchtower or a belltower or a prison, or even a laboratory for conducting chemical experiments and producing counterfeit money. Also it has a legend with a unique clock. This unique clock with bell music made by an English master Richard Phelps. The story has it that Demidov bought the clock for 5000 rubles (for comparison, the construction of the Tower itself cost 4207 rubles). The Tower has 9 floors.

There is one mysterious room in the tower the purpose of which is still being debated. It is the "acoustic room". If a person stands in one corner of this room he/she can whisper words to another person in the opposite corner and they will be perfectly audible. One of the legends has it that the inclination of the tower was an idea of some talented architect. They say that the Tower was purposely inclined to face southwest in the direction of Tula, Demidov's birthplace. Another legend claims that right after the end of construction of the edifice Akinfiy Demidov and the architect went on top of the tower. There, Demidov asked him whether he could build anything better than the Nevyansk Tower. The architect answered "yes" and Demidov ordered him thrown down from the top of the building. the next morning the locans supposedly noticed that the tower had leaned forward a bit and water had started trickling down the walls as if the tower was "crying". So, in Nevyansk has such mysterious and very beautiful building. It remains to me an object of mystery how people could build such wonderful tower in the 18th century.

Nevyansk

Today I want to tell about my home town. This town is called Nevyansk. I like very my town. It is very quiet, comfortable and clean town. Nevyansk is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast,Russia, located on the Neyva River on the eastern slope of the Middle Urals, some 97 kilometers north of Yekaterinburg. My town is small, population of this town is 26,644. Nevyansk was founded in 1701 due to the construction of a foundry and iron factory. The first melting was made in 1701 and this date is the birthday of Nevyansk. Nevyansk was built by order of Peter the First and it was the first town-factory in the world. The owner of factory was Nikita Demidov.
